For almost seventy years the Buford Housing Authority has provided affordable, safe and decent homes to families and individuals. Today we have 189 apartments in seven developments in four cities and pride ourselves with the homes we provide to low-income families.

To provide, maintain and encourage quality affordable housing for individuals and families in our communities with an emphasis on promoting financial self-sufficiency and partnering with our governments in encouraging community-minded neighborhood redevelopment.

Public Notice: Waitlist Opening for 3 & 4 Bedroom Units

The Buford Housing Authority (BHA) is accepting online applications to replenish our three and four-bedroom waiting lists.

Key Dates & Caps
• Open Date: Monday, June 22, 2026, at 12:01 AM EST
• Closing Date: Friday, June 26, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST
• Application Cap: The list will close early if 100 applications are received before Friday’s deadline.

Household Eligibility Criteria
• Household Size Requirements:Minimum of three (3) members and a maximum of eight (8) members.
• Occupancy Standards: Applications that do not meet BHA occupancy standards for three and four-bedroom units will be deemed ineligible and closed.
• Limits: Only one (1) application is allowed per household.
• Selection: Eligible applicants are ranked by local preferences, then by the exact date and time of completion.

How to Apply

Applications must be completed online by visiting www.bufordhousing.com.

If you do not have internet or computer access, you can:
• Visit your local public library.
• Use the computer in the BHA lobby by appointment only. To schedule a lobby computer time, please call 770-945-5212.

Please check back regularly to our website as we try to open our Waiting List as often as possible. Our agency will always provide a minimum of a 30 day notice when we will open our Waiting List.
